"Avery Dennison worked with The Odyssey Group on a mentoring program to provide specific skills for our six sigma black belts and master black belts to mentor others. We wanted a consulting partner that understood our business, current challenges and circumstances.  The Odyssey Group provided us with a training program/process in mentoring that both worked for us and made a large impact on our managers and business. TOG was able to effectively transfer their expertise and knowledge  in the area of mentoring to our managers."

"We needed to encourage people throughout the company to take charge of their own development and to use the available tools for career management. The Odyssey Group worked with us to custom design a "Managing My Own Career" program for our company.  They took what already existed on our corporate website, and combined that with instructional modules that could be facilitated by our senior HR Generalists.  It was a very successful partnership that provided us with a top quality program tailored just for us."

"When I became City Attorney for Atlanta in mid-2002, I became the manager of a group of employees (about 70 at the time) that were working in a less than ideal situation.  The work environment in the City was difficult and generally lacked the support needed to build a trusting relationship among staff and management, and the employees didn’t have a basis to believe that things would change.  Within the first few months of becoming City Attorney, I was fortunate to meet Peggy Hutcheson (The Odyssey Group),  who along with a colleague, eagerly agreed to help me build a Law Department where employees could thrive.  I was committed to improving both the performance and the work experience of the staff in the Law Department; and Peggy was unrelenting in her desire to see our work environment improve, have employees’ concerns addressed, build a team in which each member understood that he or she had a role to play in making things work, and create a place where work was fun and fulfilling.  When I left the City Attorney position in December 2006, the Department had become a city department that is respected both internally in the City and externally in the community.  It is a place where individuals are supported and developed and can have a rewarding work experience.  Those changes would not have happened without Peggy’s expertise and passion for what she does."

"For more than 10 years, the Mentor Program at the Federal Aviation Administration has been using The Odyssey Group's career development training materials. Because the Mentor Program is a 9 month event, mentees must create an individual development plan (IDP) with short term goals to be accomplished during the program and long term goals that carry them into the next 2 years after their graduation. Mentees, mentors, and supervisors of mentees get a clear understanding of how to maximize the use of the IDP when it is based on The Odyssey Group Key Competencies card decks. These cards are tailored to OPM's federal employee competency requirements. Not only will mentees have a better chance of getting approval for their IDP, they are also able to track their progress in these competency areas. I believe this connection to OPM competency requirements is the single most important aspect of a successfully implemented IDP."

"I have had great results with The Odyssey Group's coaching and mentoring workshops. People tell me years later how they are still using the key models.

In addition to my work in the United States, I have trained Coaching for Results in Australia and Europe. The feedback is always positive; participants love the opportunity to do real practices to solidify these skills."

"The Odyssey Group provided expert services to the Public Building Service (PBS) in the area of workforce competency assessment and gap analysis.  This initial Human Capital exercise was an important first step in an organizational transformation that occurred over the next two years.  Odyssey was comprised of extremely knowledgeable, professional, and most importantly, flexible consultants, who demonstrated a broad array of expertise in the Human Capital arena."
Steve Hochman, Workforce Planning Specialist

"With the help and expertise of The Odyssey Group, our organization has been able to move forward with the development of function specific training programs, based on the information derived from the competency profiles they developed. The quality of their work and professionalism is outstanding."

"Most good consultants practice the importance of understanding each new organization they encounter, but The Odyssey Group made it a priority.  They faced a historically skeptical cadre of technical managers for whom credibility was something to be earned. Odyssey's focused, open-minded study of the terrain and its culture, combined with an artful process, amazed my internal client totally.  In retrospect, it is fair to say that those managers became a fan club!  Thank you, Odyssey. from all of us."
